We climbed up out of the hot and dry desert just so we could be caught in a small snow storm on Sandia Crest. When the clouds hit, the air top of the crest was changed from nice warm 72 to a cold 38 degrees as soon as the clouds covered.
We traveled up a stone and sand road, up the back way to the crest. That was a wild ride. We had a great time trying to not go over the edge of the road. This was the only place I have seen a small burbling stream flowing down the mountain. This was a good place to get out and drain the old bladder under an apple tree next to the stream.
We met a German couple from Hamburg at the restaurant at the top and talked to them a bit, this was their fourth trip to the Southwest.
